Tragedy struck the world of TV and film when actor Cody Longo, best known for his roles in Days of Our Lives, Bring It On: Fight to the Finish and Hollywood Heights, was found dead at a property in Austin, Texas on Wednesday (February 8).
He was 34 years old.
According to sources, his wife Stephanie had been feeling uneasy after failed attempts to contact him that day.
After police were called for a welfare check, they kicked in the door after getting no answer and discovered Cody’s lifeless body inside.
A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Stephanie told TMZ her husband was working hard on himself to fight for their children following struggles with alcoholism which led him to enter rehab last summer.
She said he was “an amazing father and the best husband” before adding that “our whole world is shattered”.
Along with Stephanie, Cody leaves behind three children: a daughter who is seven years old and two sons aged five and one.
His career had its ups and downs – he’d been arrested in Tennessee in 2020 after allegedly getting into a drunken fight with his wife that landed him a $2,500 (£3,000) bond – but included appearances in eight episodes of Days of Our Lives back in 2011 as well as Rich Boy, Rich Girl The Silent Thief, Nashville and Wildflower.
