In a recent episode of The 77 Podcast, Paul and Peter Okoye, the twin brothers behind the musical duo P-Square, claimed that their separation in 2016 paved the way for the rise of Afrobeats stars like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Despite dominating the Nigerian and African music scene for nearly 14 years, the brothers acknowledged that their split allowed others to shine.
However, they disputed claims that Afrobeats gained global recognition only after their separation, with Peter stating, “Says who? They never said that.”
Paul added that even if that were the case, it was all part of God’s plan and that their dominance in the industry for over a decade had already been established.
