Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock Church has reported himself to the Lagos State Police Command after a video showing him holding a gun-like object went viral.
NaijaNaira learnt the Lagos Police confirmed that Pastor Adefarasin visited the Police Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said, “No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated.”
The police confirmed that detectives are now investigating the incident seen in the viral video.
The footage showed Pastor Adefarasin holding what appeared to be a gun-like object during an exchange with another road user in Lagos.
The police also noted that the vehicle involved in the incident was unregistered.
Hundeyin assured the public that the result of the investigation will be made available once the process is complete.
The video, which surfaced last week, raised concerns about Pastor Adefarasin’s alleged possession of a firearm.
In response, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the situation on his social media platforms.
He said, “The object in my hand was not a gun. At no point did I point it at anyone.”
He described the incident as a misunderstanding and cautioned against spreading false reports.
The investigation by the Lagos State Police Command is still ongoing.
