The Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in shock after their governorship candidate, Prof Uche Ikonne, passed away just days before the election.
This was confirmed in a statement by Dr Uche Ikonne, the deceased’s son.
The statement revealed that Prof Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne died on January 25 at 4 am at the National Hospital Abuja after suffering from a mysterious illness.
It further noted that although he had received treatment for his condition in the United Kingdom, he, unfortunately, relapsed and suffered multiple cardiac arrests from which he could not recover.
