Momentum is building around Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim in Kaduna, where key party leaders and grassroots supporters are throwing weight behind his presidential ambition — www.naijnaira.com reports.
During a meeting with the Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim Solidarity Movement (GOH-Front), State Chairman Edward Masha said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remained the only force with the structure to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, according to The Nation.
He argued that Nigerians were frustrated with APC’s rule and were ready to punish the party at the ballot.
“No Nigerian wants to hear APC’s name anymore,” Masha said, pointing to soaring prices, hunger, and parents struggling to pay school fees.
The PDP chieftain predicted the party’s November convention would mark a turning point, drawing back defectors and energizing members ahead of the polls.
He emphasized that zoning decisions would not prevent capable aspirants like Olawepo-Hashim from running, saying the field remained open to all loyal party members.
GOH-Front coordinator Aliyu Mohammed warned that zoning the ticket to the South could weaken PDP’s chances, urging leaders to exploit APC’s failings instead of narrowing their options.
