The People’s Democratic Party has screened and cleared Senator Duoye Diri as it’s flagbearer during the November 11, 2023 governorship elections in the state.
Diri, who is also the incumbent governor, was cleared by a screening team led by Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Shaibu said that the party conducted the screening according to guidelines stipulated by it’s internal constitution and the electoral law.
The screening team’s chairman announced that his team scrutinized Diri’s documents, regardless of his portfolio as an incumbent Governor and former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Shaibu went on to express good will Senator Duoye Siri during the forthcoming Governorship elections in the state.
