Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remained positive despite his team’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday, which continued their poor run of form.
The loss left City 22nd in the Champions League standings, only three places above automatic elimination, with two games remaining.
Guardiola’s side has now won just once in their last 10 matches across all competitions.
Guardiola praised his players’ efforts, stating, “We played good, really really good,”.
He acknowledged some errors in transitions but expressed pride in the team’s determination. “They gave everything, and now we live in this period, and hopefully we can change and get results,” he added.
With only two matches left in the group stage, City faces Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge.
The top eight teams from the group phase will advance to the round of 16, but with the current standing, automatic progression is becoming unlikely for City.
Guardiola pointed to the team’s earlier mistakes, including a 3-3 draw against Feyenoord and a 0-0 against Inter Milan, as key moments that affected their chances.
