Nigerian missionary priest, Fr Kelvin Ugwu, who is currently serving in The Gambia, has called on Nigerians to pray for the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Fr Ugwu stated that those who are against Obi’s presidential ambition are willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to make it happen.

He urged people to stand by Obi, saying that he has proven over time that he can be trusted.

Fr Ugwu made this call against the backdrop of the federal government accusing Obi of inciting violence over the outcome of the February 25 poll, which they say is treasonable.

The situation has been further complicated by a leaked audio of an alleged conversation between Obi and the founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, which has created fresh controversy.

However, Obi has personally denied the audio’s authenticity and claims that he is under immense pressure to leave the country.

In response to this, Fr Ugwu took to Facebook to urge Obi’s supporters to pray for him, saying that those against him could be likened to the “principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places” described in Ephesians 6:12.

He called these people “malicious and evil” and said they are willing to do anything to bring their ambitions to fruition.

Fr Ugwu suggested that people should stand by Obi, saying that he has proven time and time again that he can be trusted.

He urged people to remain focused on the truth and to pray for Obi’s safety.
