Reports suggest that if Mauricio Pochettino becomes the new head coach of Chelsea, he would be interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
Pochettino, a former manager of Spurs, is reportedly keen on building a team around homegrown talent, and an English core is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge.
However, with no European football, a recent loss of £121m, and the need to make extreme cutbacks in the summer, the Chelsea hierarchy will have to sell a wide array of players.
Nevertheless, Pochettino is expected to be able to make his own signings, and he is said to be a huge admirer of Kane, whom he helped develop into one of the world’s best strikers during his time in North London.
Kane, who has just over 14 months left on his contract, is contemplating his next move, and Manchester United are also believed to be readying an approach for him.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is allegedly against selling Kane to either club, but missing out on Champions League football may force his hand.
