Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called out VeryDarkMan (VDM) after his comments about Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid’s recent car purchases.
VDM criticized the musicians for spending millions on luxury cars instead of helping Nigerians, according to Legit.ng.
Portable strongly disagreed, reminding VDM that Burna Boy once gave him N20 million, and Davido had made significant charity donations in the past.
He challenged VDM’s claims and questioned what VDM had done with the donations he received, including N100 million from Don Jazzy.
In a direct statement, Portable said, “You used to drink pure water before, didn’t you buy a Benz? Didn’t you buy a car? The money Don Jazzy gave you, where is the audio money?”
The video sparked mixed reactions online. Some Nigerians supported Portable’s response, while others agreed with VDM’s focus on youth empowerment.
Portable defended the right of celebrities to spend their money as they choose, insisting that buying luxury cars does not mean they are not helping people.
