President Bola Tinubu announced on Sunday that the report from the Special Investigator on past activities in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will be completed soon.
The President appointed Mr. Osayande Obaze as the Special Investigator to look into the activities of government business enterprises, including the CBN.
Recent concerns about the nation’s monetary and fiscal activities, such as the decline of the Naira against foreign currencies, have led to calls for an investigation of the apex bank.
President Tinubu assured Nigerians that the investigation is underway and that the report will be released soon.
He also mentioned that a new leadership for the Central Bank has been established and that monetary policy will now be for the benefit of all, not just the powerful and wealthy.
