During a diaspora engagement with Nigerians living in France, Real Madrid defender David Alaba paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s former governor and number one citizen, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was attending the Global Financial Pact Summit hosted by President Emmanuel Macron.

Alaba, who was born in Vienna to Nigerian parents, presented his club’s jersey to Tinubu and received wide applause from other Nigerians at the event.

Despite his Nigerian roots, the 31-year-old chose to represent the Austrian national team and has made 101 appearances with 15 goals to his name.

Alaba’s father, George, is a prince from Ogere Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.
