Leicester City Football Club have announced the signing of winger Tete from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk on a six-month loan.
The 22-year-old Brazilian had been on loan with French side Lyon, but will now be joining the Premier League side until the end of the 2022/23 season, after which he is set to return to Ukraine.
Following his arrival at the King Power Stadium, Tete spoke to club media and expressed his excitement towards playing for Leicester City: “I’m really happy to be here. I’ve had a look at the pitch and stadium – it’s beautiful! I can already imagine what it’ll be like with a lot of fans. I hope they’ll all be happy to see me play.”
Initially, Leicester were trying to negotiate a deal for Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez, but could not reach an agreement.
However, they have now confirmed that Tete has become their latest addition in attack.
