According to Kicker, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, part-owner of Manchester United, has reached out to former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about taking over at Old Trafford.

Ratcliffe has reportedly inquired about Tuchel’s commitment for the upcoming season, assessing his desire to lead the Red Devils, even if Tuchel is currently concentrated on Bayern Munich.

Tuchel, who was fired from Bayern Munich after losing the Bundesliga title race to Bayer Leverkusen, is leaving Die Rekordmeister at the end of the current campaign and may find a position in England, where his credibility is still strong.

Despite Bayern’s difficulties, Tuchel’s standing as a top manager remains untarnished. He guided Chelsea to their second Champions League title in his first season in England and also led them to the FA Cup final, where they were defeated by Leicester City.

The 50-year-old manager, who previously managed Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, also won the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea, reaching the finals of both domestic cups. Ratcliffe, an admirer of Tuchel, sees his approach as ideal for cup competitions.

However, according to the report, Ratcliffe hasn’t made a final decision on Ten Hag yet. Despite a disappointing season, Manchester United still has a chance to win a trophy with the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The Dutch manager, Ten Hag, has given himself another opportunity to win a trophy following a turbulent second season with the Reds.

Although Manchester United avoided the ultimate embarrassment after losing a three-goal lead against Coventry City in the FA Cup semifinal, their performance has been heavily criticized by ex-players and pundits.
