Femi Gbajabiamila, the current Speaker of the House of Representatives in Nigeria, has issued a statement denying any connection to a building in Abuja where suspected hackers of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) machines were found.
This news came after social media posts suggested that people had been arrested at the property with electoral materials which included machines used for voter accreditation.
Gbajabiamila strongly denied any ownership or knowledge of the property and expressed his gratitude towards the police for their timely intervention and clarification on this matter.
The Force Public Relations Officer also released a statement confirming that the suspects were engineers contracted by INEC and were immediately released once their identities were verified.
