Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal’s star midfielder Martin Odegaard would abandon the north London club and jump at the chance to join Barcelona if the La Liga team were to call.
The Norwegian had a six year stint with Real Madrid, but since joining Arsenal on loan in 2021 and making his move permanent later that year, he has been named captain.
This followed the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the club.
With Odegaard’s recent heroics helping the Gunners keep their lead in the Premier League table and scoring vital goals, Ferdinand hinted that if Barcelona were to swoop in with an offer, he could be tempted by a move back to Spain.
