Mykhaylo Mudryk, the £85 million-valued Shakhtar Donetsk forward, has fuelled rumours linking him with a transfer to Arsenal by posting a picture of himself wearing the Gunners’ shirt on his Instagram story.
This latest hint follows reports that Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu Gaspar has been in talks with the Ukrainian club every day since the beginning of the January window.
Despite interest from Chelsea, Mykhaylo admitted he could not turn down a move to play at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
He even posted his own edited photo showing himself in an Arsenal shirt, which has caused much speculation amongst Arsenal fans who hope Edu can complete an agreement with Shakhtar quickly.
The 22-year-old would provide much-needed attacking reinforcements following Gabriel Jesus’ injury and Eddie Nketiah’s promising performances in his absence.
If successful, this transfer would surely provide great back-up options to both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli up front for The Gunners.
