Dutch football great Ruud Gullit has insisted that Manchester United’s troubles stem from the way the club is run rather than the players on the pitch – www.naijnaira.com reports.

According to Transfer News Live via Ziggo Sport, Gullit argued that the decline began after Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, when the club lost a leader who commanded authority over football decisions.

The Red Devils’ latest setback came in midweek when they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Grimsby Town, piling pressure on the squad and new manager Ruben Amorim.

Gullit emphasized that several players who left Old Trafford have gone on to flourish elsewhere, proving that the environment within United is the real issue.

“Everyone who leaves Manchester United suddenly plays great at their new club,” he said, naming Scott McTominay at Napoli, Marcus Rashford at Aston Villa and Barcelona, and Antony at Real Betis.

He stressed that Old Trafford has become a place where talent fails to thrive, while those same players shine in different environments.

United finished last season in 15th place in the Premier League, the lowest in their history, underlining the depth of their struggles.
