Cole Palmer Tipped for Shock Liverpool Move

Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer could be on Liverpool’s radar in the near future, according to former Premier League great Dwight Yorke. While Palmer remains a key figure at Stamford Bridge, Yorke suggests that a potential Anfield switch could materialize—especially if Mohamed Salah departs.

Palmer, 22, has cemented his status as one of the league’s most promising talents since making the switch from Manchester City to Chelsea. Despite his impressive individual performances—leading the league with 33 goal contributions in the 2023-24 season—his club has struggled. Chelsea, currently battling for a Champions League spot under Enzo Maresca, has faced turbulence, and Palmer himself is in the midst of a seven-game goal drought.

Speculation has swirled over whether Palmer would seek an exit if Chelsea fails to secure a top-four finish. However, Yorke dismisses the notion that the England international would force a move, arguing that he thrives as Chelsea’s main man. Yet, he acknowledges that Liverpool could be a compelling destination if Salah, their talismanic forward, moves on.

“He doesn’t strike me as the type to demand an exit,” Yorke told CasinoBeats. “He’s young, he’s transformed his career at Chelsea, and he’s their go-to guy. Why walk away from that?”

Still, Yorke believes Liverpool could be a legitimate suitor if they lose Salah. “He’s a Manchester United fan, but a move there is unlikely given his City past. Arsenal is off the table because of Bukayo Saka. But Liverpool? If Salah leaves, that could be an option.”

Palmer’s Future Hinges on Chelsea’s Ambitions

For now, Palmer remains integral to Chelsea’s aspirations. Despite their current struggles, the Blues are aiming to secure a Champions League berth and reassert themselves as title contenders next season. Yorke emphasizes that unless Chelsea’s situation worsens, Palmer is unlikely to agitate for a transfer.

“If Chelsea return stronger next season, pushing for the Champions League and Premier League, there’s no reason for him to leave,” Yorke added. “Liverpool would be tempting, but only if Salah departs.”

Salah’s Uncertain Future

Salah remains Liverpool’s linchpin, delivering over 50 goal contributions this season. Yet, persistent rumors suggest his future at Anfield is far from settled. Should he move on, Palmer could emerge as a prime candidate to fill the void.

The next few transfer windows could prove pivotal with Chelsea and Liverpool both in transitional phases. For now, Palmer’s focus remains on reviving Chelsea’s season, but his long-term future is an open question. If Salah departs, Liverpool might just make their move.
