Arsenal could be looking to Everton midfielder Amadou Onana as an alternative should they reach an agreement to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo, per Pete O’Rourke.
The Gunners have already made two bids for the Ecuadorian this January, according to Fabrizio Romano, however they may need to look at other options.
At 21 years old, Onana is considered one of the finest young midfield players in the Premier League and has reportedly been linked with Chelsea as well.
O’Rourke also told Give Me Sport that Arsenal could be keeping close tabs on him should he become available during the transfer window.
He comments that “he looks like a real top player” and if there is any chance of acquiring him, “Arsenal and these other interested clubs will maybe make an offer for him”.
If Caicedo proves to be unattainable then Onana could serve as a great Plan B for Arsenal offering them more strength in depth in the middle of the park going into the second half of the season.
