Soccer star Neymar fined 3.3 Million Dollars for environmental violation

Brazilian soccer star Neymar has been fined 16 million reais ($3.3 million) for constructing a lake at his mansion without the necessary environmental license.

The fines were issued by the town council in Mangaratiba, a tourist area near Rio de Janeiro where Neymar’s mansion is located.

The violations included carrying out unauthorized construction work, diverting river water without permission, and removing land and vegetation without authorization.

Neymar has 20 days to appeal the penalty, which was initially set at five million reais.

The luxury property was cordoned off by authorities after environmental violations were discovered, but reports suggest that Neymar still held a party and used the lake.

Neymar’s press office has not commented on the matter.
