Son Heung-Min finally opened his Los Angeles FC scoring account in spectacular fashion, smashing home a free kick in a 1-1 draw away to FC Dallas – www.naijnaira.com reports.

The South Korean star became Major League Soccer’s record signing earlier this month, joining LAFC from Tottenham Hotspur for a $26 million fee, according to The Hans India.

His first strike arrived just weeks after marking his debut with a late penalty in Chicago and an assist in the win over New England Revolution.

Sunday’s curling effort from distance left the Dallas keeper helpless and handed Son his first MLS goal in just his third appearance.

“It’s been a little more than two weeks, but I’m enjoying every moment,” Son said after the match.

The forward admitted his disappointment with the draw, adding, “I’m glad I scored, but the most important thing is getting three points.”

Head coach Steve Cherundolo praised his new signing: “He’s a competitor, and he has qualities not many in this league possess.”

With LAFC sitting in the top four of the Western Conference, Son’s first home appearance next week against rivals San Diego FC is already generating excitement.
