Following his conduct at the women’s World Cup final, Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, has been provisionally suspended by FIFA.

Despite the controversy surrounding his actions, Rubiales has refused to step down from his position.

The uproar was caused by Rubiales kissing Jenni Hermoso on the lips while she was receiving her medal after Spain’s victory over England.

Hermoso has stated that she did not give consent for the kiss, and the RFEF has announced its intention to take legal action against her comments about Rubiales.

In response to the situation, FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Rubiales and has imposed a 90-day ban on him from all football-related activities at both national and international levels.
