The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a warning to the Federal and State Governments regarding the increase in tuition fees in tertiary institutions across the country.
NANS President, Comrade Usman Barambu, stated that the increase has negatively impacted students, particularly those from low-income families.
He warned that if the government does not address the issue, there will be a student uprising that will shut down the entire country.
Barambu called for tuition fees to be reduced to reflect the current economic situation and criticized those who remain silent on the issue because it does not affect them.
He also accused some ASUU collaborators of being behind the planned increase and called on security agencies to advise the government on how to avert the dangers ahead.
The NANS President emphasized that a frustrated student who cannot afford to pay school fees can be a willing tool to be used as a bandit to get satisfaction.
