After 10 months of waiting, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has finally received $210,000 from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which was part of the $700,000 owed to him in salary.
Despite reports that the Portuguese coach was considering leaving the job last year, he was convinced by top officials of the Federation to stay on.
Peseiro, who was contracted by the NFF in May 2022, had not received any payment until now.
He has declined to comment on his salary situation following the Super Eagles’ recent loss to Guinea-Bissau.
Despite calls for his dismissal, the three-time African champions will face the Leon Stars of Sierra Leone in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture in June.
