Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen drew attention off the football pitch as he joined friends in Lagos to mark Eid-el-Kabir.
Amid ongoing discussions about his football career and his decision to reject a substantial offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, Osimhen appeared focused on enjoying his time back home in Nigeria. Reports indicate he has been spending time with family and friends in Lagos during the holiday season.
In a video that quickly gained attention, Osimhen was spotted at a local eatery where he made a bold request—ordering 10 wraps of amala, accompanied by ewedu, gbegiri, and assorted meats.
The footage showed the Napoli striker arriving in casual attire, smiling as he eagerly waited for his meal. Osimhen’s affection for Nigerian food is well known, and he once said, “I eat a lot—eba to be precise. When I’m there, I eat okro. In Nigeria, I used to eat amala. That’s my favourite food.”
The forward’s love for local dishes remains a strong connection to his roots, even as his career commands international attention.
Recently, Osimhen played a vital role in Galatasaray’s successful season in Turkey. He helped the club win both the Turkish Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup during a season-long loan following a disagreement with Napoli’s management. The Nigerian international scored an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances for Galatasaray.
His outstanding season has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, yet Osimhen appears relaxed amid the transfer discussions.
For now, the Napoli-owned striker seems fully engaged in enjoying his time in Nigeria, reconnecting with loved ones and relishing his favourite meals.
