The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is reportedly considering five coaches to replace Jose Peseiro as the head coach of the Super Eagles.

Peseiro took over from Augustine Eguavoen in May 2022, but has only managed to secure three victories in his first eight games in charge.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and exited early from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Peseiro’s contract with the Nigerian football federation may not be renewed, and two Nigerian coaches, including Salisu Yusuf, and three international coaches have been suggested as possible replacements.

Peseiro will manage the team through the last AFCON qualification games, which may be his final matches.

There are rumours of a contractual dispute between Peseiro and the Nigerian football organisation, but neither party has confirmed or denied these rumours.
