The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to the recent suspension of its national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by another faction within the party.
In a statement released by the chairman and secretary of Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government of Kano State, Ahmed Muhammed Ganduje and Usaini Jibrinn, they stated that no new election had been conducted by either the state or national body of the APC.
According to the statement, the sponsored group behind the suspension used a fake or uncertified headed paper to create a list of non-existent party executives. The executive members of Ganduje Ward assert that they remain the legitimate leadership of the ward and called on the national body of the APC to take action against the impersonators.
The statement further urged party members to disregard the propaganda aimed at disrupting the party and called for the arrest and prosecution of the group attempting to cause confusion through impersonation.
It remains to be seen how the party will address these issues and ensure a smooth functioning ahead.
