Tayo Ayinde, the Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has denied rumors of his intention to become the Chief of Staff to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The rumor was spread on social media platforms where it was claimed that Ayinde was vying for the position of Chief of Staff to Tinubu.
However, in a statement released on Monday, Ayinde dissociated himself from the rumors and emphasized that he was contented with his present position as Chief of Staff to Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
According to him, the position of Chief of Staff does not need any advertisement or solicitation.
He further explained that he obtained his present position as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State through collaboration with the President-elect and his direct boss, Governor Sanwo-Olu.
No advertisement was placed on social media or any newspaper platform then.
Ayinde emphasized that the position of Chief of Staff is the most sensitive and confidential of all political positions in the government setup.
As such, no one can impose or compel any person to become the Chief of Staff.
He concluded by appreciating those who believe in his capacity and truthfulness but urged them to desist from placing unnecessary social media advertisements.
He thanked them and prayed for God’s blessings on them.
