President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for a thorough investigation into the Adamawa State governorship supplementary election that took place on April 15th, 2023.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Tinubu congratulated the winners of the supplementary governorship elections in Kebbi and Adamawa States, as well as those elected into the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly during the recent round of elections.

Tinubu applauded the largely peaceful atmosphere that prevailed during the supplementary election, calling it a testimony to the acceptance of democratic norms and unalloyed faith in the electoral process by the citizens of Nigeria.

However, the president-elect expressed concerns over the controversies that surrounded the Adamawa Supplementary Governorship Election, urging the police authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all that transpired during the election.

In his statement, Tinubu stressed the need for the investigation to be thorough and impartial, calling on those who feel aggrieved to pursue legitimate means of addressing their grievances. He also encouraged the winners of the elections to rededicate themselves to the service of their respective constituents, noting that they had earned the trust of their people.
