Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has debunked claims that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, is sick and on a sick bed.
The Senate Chief Whip made this known at a mass held to celebrate his 63rd birthday in Abuja.
Kalu stated that Tinubu is in good health and not on any sick bed as speculated by some Nigerians.
Kalu further narrated a conversation he had with a colleague who claimed that the President-elect was in the hospital.
The Senator revealed that he had informed his colleague that Tinubu was not in the hospital, and that he was in good health.
Recently, Nigerians have been concerned about Tinubu’s health and whereabouts, with rumors circulating that he was secretly flown out of the country for medical treatment.
It was alleged that the President-elect took ill after months of uninterrupted political campaigns.
However, Tinubu’s media team later clarified that he travelled to Paris and London to rest.
In a bid to quell concerns about Tinubu’s health, Senator Kalu reaffirmed that the President-elect is hale and hearty.
He urged Nigerians to disregard any news regarding Tinubu’s health that is not from a credible source.
