President-elect Bola Tinubu has agreed to the invitation of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to attend the commissioning of some projects in the South-South state.
Tinubu will inaugurate the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and Magistrates Court building in Port Harcourt on May 3rd and 4th, 2023.
The President-elect confirmed his attendance in a statement released by his media office on Thursday.
During an inspection tour of the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and Magistrates Court building in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike announced Tinubu’s visit to Rivers State next week.
It is worth noting that Wike has been in disagreement with the leadership of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), since Atiku Abubakar emerged as the presidential candidate of the party.
Wike, along with four other PDP governors known as the G5 governors, demanded the resignation of National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu.
Consequently, the disgruntled governors were suspected of working against the party’s interests during the 2023 presidential election.
