President Bola Tinubu has taken legal action to prevent his university academic records from being released to his opponent, Atiku Abubakar, in the United States.

Atiku Abubakar had requested the release of Tinubu’s records from Chicago State University, citing controversies surrounding Tinubu’s background.

However, Tinubu’s legal team argued that he should be allowed to join the suit as he has a direct personal interest in the records and that Chicago State University may not adequately protect his interests.

Tinubu also argued that the records should not be released due to privacy laws for American students.

The case is expected to have an expedited hearing and disposal.

Atiku Abubakar welcomed Tinubu’s motion to join the suit and did not oppose his intention to do so.
