Nigerian youths have urged President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to choose his cabinet ministers carefully and not compromise on his leadership standards.

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) National Leader, Mr Isaac Abrak, made this call in Kaduna while felicitating with Muslim faithful over the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

According to Abrak, Tinubu was voted into office based on his track record as the Governor of Lagos State, where he transformed Lagos into one of the biggest economies in Africa by assembling teams of people who understood his God-given call for service to humanity.

He added that the cabinet that made up Tinubu’s administration as Governor of Lagos was composed of patriotic Nigerians drawn from all ethnic and religious backgrounds based on merit.

Abrak urged Tinubu to appoint credible and competent hands to pilot the affairs in various ministries, departments, and agencies.

He also reminded Tinubu to be mindful of the security and economic hardships bedeviling Nigerians while urging him to hit the ground running with policies to facilitate the difficulties.

“The NCYP recognizes that Tinubu’s presidency is coming at a time when economic and security hardships have stretched the Nigerian people to the highest limit. As such, the country cannot afford to be stretched beyond its elastic limit. Thus, only a team with the character of selfless service and spirit of patriotism like that of Tinubu’s days in the Lagos government is desired,” Abrak said.

The group urged the President-elect to begin to improve the living conditions of Nigerians, unite the country, and set it on the path of transformation into the great nation envisioned by the founding fathers.
