Tolu Arokodare has chosen calm professionalism during transfer talks, even as Napoli circle for his signature, setting himself apart from fellow Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to Het Belang van Limburg, Racing Genk’s head of football Dimitri de Condé confirmed the club would only sell Arokodare on their own terms, stressing the striker remains vital to their European campaign.
“We’re open to a top transfer,” de Condé explained, “but Tolu has been very professional and is fully available to the coach.”
The 24-year-old hitman is valued between €20–25 million after scoring 21 goals with six assists last season, making him one of Genk’s most prized assets.
Napoli’s interest intensified after Romelu Lukaku’s injury, with Antonio Conte eager to secure a new forward before the window closes.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed talks had already begun between Napoli and Arokodare’s representatives, though Genk remain firm on their valuation.
Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman’s situation at Atalanta has turned sour, as the reigning CAF Player of the Year went on strike after bids from Inter Milan fell below the club’s €50 million demand.
Lookman, who netted 20 goals in 41 appearances last season, accused Atalanta of broken promises, worsening tensions after Gian Piero Gasperini publicly criticized his penalty miss.
