Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has declared Victor Osimhen as the world’s best striker following his stellar performance for Napoli this season where he scored a whopping 19 goals in 22 league games.
While former Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam believes Karim Benzema and Erling Haaland are ahead of the 24-year-old, Troost-Ekong feels otherwise.
He said “Osimhen is probably the best striker in the world right now. I am happy for him because he has overcome difficult moments,” referring to his move away from premiership side Watford on loan to current Serie A club Salernitana.
Furthermore, Troost-Ekong discussed Osimhen’s future as speculations of a move to Manchester United make rounds.
He said, “It’s a very important year for him, he can win the Scudetto, and then he’ll be able to think about the future.”
