Donald Trump’s attempt to prevent former Vice President Mike Pence from testifying in the special counsel probe into the 2020 presidential election has been denied by an appeals court.
The appeal was filed by Trump’s lawyers after a ruling related to the Justice Department’s investigation into efforts to undermine the election.
However, Pence has stated that he will comply with a judge’s ruling requiring him to testify to a federal grand jury about conversations he had with Trump leading up to the January 6th attack on the US Capitol.
The decision was made by judges Patricia Millett, Robert Wilkins, and Greg Katsas on the DC circuit Court of Appeals and came in a sealed case on Wednesday night.
A representative for Pence declined to comment, while a representative for Trump did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
