Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane did not hold back in his critique of the team’s performance during their 7-0 loss to Liverpool.
In particular, Keane singled out captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Luke Shaw for criticism, stating that Fernandes’ “body language was disgraceful” and that he would not be pleased with him if he were part of the dressing room.
He also noted that the senior players on the team did not show any leadership skills during the game and that they were responsible for giving up shocking goals.
While acknowledging that some players were having a bad day, he specifically called out Shaw’s defending as unacceptable.
Keane expressed his disbelief at how poorly United played, pointing out that they have top international players and World Cup winners on their team who should be performing better.
He concluded by saying that such a humiliating defeat requires the players to go into hiding for a few days or even months, but emphasized the need for them to bounce back in future games.
