British professional boxer, Tyson Fury has confirmed he is giving up his Ring magazine title following his retirement from the sport.

Fury initially claimed he was retiring after his stoppage win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April but has since regularly flirted with a comeback.

He has called out the winner of Anthony Joshua’s forthcoming rematch with Oleksandr Usyk and last week claimed to be close to agreeing a deal with Derek Chisora.

Fury has already twice fought and beaten his fellow countryman but had long claimed he would grant Chisora a third fight.

But Fury then claimed negotiations had broken down before he insisted he was finally hanging up his gloves.

Heavyweight champ Tyson Fury vacates title

And The Ring magazine has now confirmed Fury will be vacating their title which recognises the best fighter in each weight division.

Fury has yet to reveal whether he will give up his WBC world title, and the sanctioning body has yet to announce whether or not they will strip the giant Brit.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said yesterday: “Just finished a touching video conference with Tyson Fury who has confirmed his official retirement from boxing. We fully support his decision which is a dream for anyone to retire undefeated and as WBC champion of the world. WBC boxing will prepare a special farewell event soon.”
