United Kingdom-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, has disclosed he has been battling cancer for over five months and recently underwent major surgery.

According to News, the founder of The Nation Family, formerly known as SPAC Nation, made the announcement during a pre-recorded sermon aired to his congregation on Thursday.

Adegboyega, widely known for his bold ministry style and association with celebrities, addressed his congregation candidly:

“I was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, you heard me right. I’ve been dealing with cancer for the past few months or even more. I just had a major surgery, that’s why I am not there today… I feel the verdict to continue to live was given to me by God for a new level, for a new stage.”

The pastor also pledged a £100,000 donation toward cancer awareness and treatment efforts, particularly those aimed at helping younger patients.

Tobi Adegboyega has often drawn both praise and criticism for his lifestyle, which includes wearing designer suits, driving luxury cars, and engaging publicly with high-profile figures.

In 2022, SPAC Nation, the church he originally founded, faced serious legal issues in the United Kingdom. A UK High Court investigation revealed financial irregularities and failure to account for over £1.87 million in expenditures. As a result, the organisation was formally dissolved.
