UK explains ban on Nigerian students bringing family members

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, has explained that the UK government’s decision to ban international students from bringing family members with them from 2024 is to avoid pressure on the country’s housing infrastructure and control the inflow of migrants.

Montgomery revealed that the decision was made due to the difficulty in finding housing and services to meet the needs of all existing student populations.

He also stated that managing migration in and out of the UK is necessary, just as the Nigerian government would do.

Montgomery disclosed that Nigerian students in the UK increased five-fold in the last three years, making up 10% of those granted UK visas yearly.

The decision has been met with mixed reactions from international students, schools, and some British lawmakers.
