Nicholas Ukachukwu won the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket for Anambra State in the 2025 election.
He secured 1,455 votes, defeating Valentine Ozigbo, who got 67 votes; Johnbosco Onunkwo, with 26 votes; and Edozie Madu, who earned 8 votes.
According to The Nation, the primary election took place on Saturday and saw Ukachukwu emerge as the winner.
After his victory, Ukachukwu said, “We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here — nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before.”
He promised to lead the APC to success in the November 8, 2025, election.
Ukachukwu’s rise marks a shift from his previous godfather role to a more active leadership position.
