Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is reportedly keen on bringing back one of his former Arsenal players, Matteo Guendouzi, to the club this transfer window.
Sources say that Emery wants to reunite with the midfielder at Villa Park, but Marseille value him at around €50m and are not open to selling.
Guendouzi played 82 appearances for Arsenal under Emery before moving on loan to Hertha Berlin in 2020 and eventually transferring permanently to Marseille.
He’s also been part of France’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.
As well as looking into Guendouzi, Emery is eyeing some of his other ex-players from Villarreal: Pau Torres, Arnaut Danjuma, Samuel Chukwueze and Nicolas Jackson who might also be joining Aston Villa soon.
