Nigerian forward Victor Boniface is edging closer to a switch to AC Milan after the Serie A side reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to PUNCH Sports Extra, the deal is structured as a loan with an option to buy set at €30 million, though the clause will not be compulsory.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano revealed, “AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen preparing formal documents after verbal agreement for Victor Boniface. Loan deal with €30m buy option clause not mandatory.”
Milan have now opened direct discussions with Boniface’s camp to finalize personal terms, the last hurdle before the transfer can be made official.
The 24-year-old striker has already accepted Milan’s contract proposal, giving the Rossoneri a major boost in their search for a new number nine.
Romano also added, “Negotiations underway today as Victor said yes to AC Milan contract proposal, talks continue over deal structure.”
Reports in Italy suggest the Bundesliga champions are leaning towards accepting Milan’s proposal, with sources in Germany confirming the player’s push for the move.
Boniface, who netted 11 league goals for Leverkusen last season, is now on course to lead Milan’s attack under Massimiliano Allegri.
