Victor Osimhen is quickly approaching Gabriel Batistuta’s all-time Serie A record of scoring in 11 consecutive matches.

This Saturday, the Nigerian forward matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 8 consecutive goals in a single Serie A season.

Others who also achieved this feat are Fabio Quagliarella and David Trezeguet, both with 9 goals each and Ezio Pascutti with 10 goals.

What makes Osimhen an even bigger name is that he made all these goals without penalty kicks whereas Trezeguet, Quagliarella and Ronaldo scored most of their goals by penalty.

It will be interesting to see if he can break Batistuta’s long-standing record and make his own mark in history.
