Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday visited the Benue home of the late Chief Audu Ogbeh, leading a presidential delegation to offer condolences – www.naijnaira.com reports.
The 78-year-old former Agriculture Minister and APC founding member died on Saturday after decades of public service.
According to The Punch, President Tinubu described him as “one of Nigeria’s most visionary leaders.”
Ogbeh also served as Minister of Communications in the Second Republic and once chaired the Peoples Democratic Party.
Shettima said his passing was “an irreparable loss to Nigeria’s agricultural transformation drive.”
He praised Ogbeh’s “integrity, dedication, and unwavering commitment” to rural farmers.
The Vice President noted that millions of Nigerians benefited from his agricultural reforms.
He described the late leader as a unifying figure whose influence transcended politics.
Prayers were offered for his soul and comfort for his family and the people of Benue.
