Tragedy struck on Tuesday as the convoy of Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, was involved in a fatal accident along the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport road.
Three individuals from Ezza South Local Government Area lost their lives in the incident, which occurred after an advance team collided with their vehicle.
The victims were reportedly alone at the time of the accident.
Governor Umahi had been dropped off at the airport in Onueke and the convoy was returning to town when the incident occurred.
The accident happened shortly after the commissioning of a flyover at Abaomege in the Onicha local government area, which was named after Prince Arthur Eze.
The flyover was commissioned by Prince Arthur Eze and Governor Umahi, who later left for Abuja after the project’s completion.
