However, there is good news for those who were bothered by the capitalization. WhatsApp has confirmed that it has backtracked on the change. According to a spokesperson, the capitalization was just a small test and the app will be returning to normal.
The change, which was introduced on both the iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp, gained significant attention on social media. Users took to platforms like Twitter to express their annoyance, with some admitting that their frustration may have been irrational.
Unfortunately, it appears that the change is here to stay, as there is no option available within WhatsApp’s settings to revert to the previous lowercase version.
On a positive note, WhatsApp recently launched four new text formatting options, including bulleted lists and block quotes, to enhance communication for users. These options join the existing formatting features such as bold, italic, strikethrough, and monospace.
