WhatsApp is now offering its users the ability to share high-resolution photos and videos. The update, which was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg a few weeks ago, is now being rolled out globally on both Android and iOS devices.
The HD Photo option allows users to send images with up to 12MP resolution, while the HD Video option increases the resolution to 1,280 x 720 pixels.
Previously, this feature was only available to users who registered to beta-test new versions of WhatsApp.
The company has also shared a demonstration of the feature on Threads, encouraging users to share their memories in high definition.
WhatsApp HD Image Resolution Setting
Once you have updated WhatsApp to the latest version on your phone, you will notice a new HD option when sending images and videos.
This option can be found at the top of the screen. By tapping on the HD icon, a pop-up menu will appear, giving you the choice between Standard Quality and HD Quality.
Previously, many users complained about WhatsApp reducing the quality of their images and videos due to heavy compression.
However, with the new update, users can now send high-quality media files. It is important to note that this may result in the files taking up more space on your phone.
In addition to this feature, WhatsApp has also recently introduced the option to share your screen with others during a video call.
This allows users to collaborate and plan together, or seek assistance from someone while getting things done.
