Wilson and Muniz Strike Late as Fulham Win at Stamford Bridge for First Time Since 1979

Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz came off the bench to help Fulham secure a historic 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, ending a 45-year hoodoo.

Chelsea had taken the lead in the 16th minute through Cole Palmer, who scored with a composed finish after a brilliant solo run past two Fulham defenders.

Palmer’s goal was his 26th league strike of 2024, breaking Chelsea’s record for Premier League goals in a calendar year.

He nearly added another soon after, but Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno made key saves to deny both Palmer and Marc Cucurella.

Despite Chelsea’s dominance in the first half, Fulham had their chances, with Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi testing Chelsea’s defense.

In the second half, Leno continued to shine with a spectacular save from an Enzo Fernandez shot.

As Chelsea began to retreat, Fulham pressed, with Iwobi sending a curling shot wide and Antonee Robinson being denied by Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez.

With eight minutes remaining, Fulham equalized when Timothy Castagne’s header back across goal was glanced in by Wilson at the far post.

Then, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Muniz finished off a well-worked move to score the winner, handing Fulham their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1979.
